A little thing about Walmart...

Some may not know this, but Walmart matches prices for same items in each stores area's.

Today for example, a store in Coeur d' Alene had a sale on generic brand Large black olives for 10 CENTS a can, today only. So, did I drive the 40 miles to CDA? Not a chance. Bought 2 cases of the Walmart 'Great Value' black olives for $4.80 plus tax. Sweet!

Last week I loaded up on 'Green Giant' brand pea's, green beans, french green beans, and YES, canned corn for 50 cents a can. Plenty of veggies for the next year or so. Also, got 3 15-17 pound turkeys at 29 cents a pound.

With winter just ahead, hopefully some of you in proximity to a Walmart, but distant from a major food store can benefit. :15_1_70v:

Sure, this is SOP for a Chinese megastore that wants to drive all small businesses out.

:553: Their corporate price matching policy depends more on your location than anything else.
Individual China Marts can,and do,refuse to pricematch from my experience.
I'm guessing the store manager has the authority to set store policy depending on how close the competition is located.
One particular China Mart in our area will not take manufacturers' discount coupons on anything at checkout time.
This particular location will not pricematch anything,it's a waste of time to even ask.
They are an exception I'm sure, but I've also ran into China Marts in the middle of nowhere that won't take coupons or pricematch.

Consider yourself lucky...as they slowly destroy their local competition I'm guessing their pricematching policy will become history.

Hahaha. You do realize that all businesses were small at one point, right? And that every business owner want to beat the competition, right? This is called capitalism. So quit your bitching and don't shop there if you don't want to. You can pay more for Chinese goods at many local stores.

It amazes me that many GIM'ers happen to be of the ACLU-Socialist bent.

I've seen tons of tapes/video's featuring Sam Walton pushing carts through the parking lots of one his 10 (at that time) stores and nobody gave it a second thought. Then after years, the guy hits paydirt and all of a sudden, the leftists criticize and ostracize.

Jeesh. The formula is simple. Best price, more customers and more sales.

I get soooooo tired of the leftists bemoaning the fact that lower pricing destroys those with higher pricing. Huh?

They should don their Ho Chi Minh attire and report to Beijing for organ harvesting.

Instead of bashing Wal-Mart, you should bash the socialist / usurer overhead (taxation, regulation, and corruption) that has made American labor and production so expensive.

But that would be politically incorrect.

When Treason prospers, none dare call it Treason.
